THE CHURCHES OF REVELATION BIBLE STUDY | FINAL MESSAGE TO THE CHURCH
FINAL MESSAGE TO THE CHURCH—Given in the last book of the Bible
The final message to the church is found in the closing chapter of the Bible—Revelation 22. These concluding words serve as a powerful reminder, a warning, and a promise to all believers.
In this chapter, Jesus speaks with urgency and authority, declaring, “Behold, I come quickly.” He calls His people to remain faithful, to keep His Word, and to be ready for His return.
The River of Life (Revelation 22:1–5)
John describes a pure river of water of life, flowing from the throne of God and of the Lamb. On either side is the tree of life, bearing fruit and bringing healing. There is no more curse—only the presence of God. His servants will serve Him, see His face, and reign with Him forever.
A Call to Keep His Word (Revelation 22:6–9)
These words are declared faithful and true. Believers are reminded to keep the sayings of this prophecy. The message is clear—this is not just to be read, but obeyed.
The Urgency of His Coming (Revelation 22:10–15)
Jesus repeats the warning: “Behold, I come quickly.” There will come a time when decisions are final—those who are righteous will remain righteous, and those who are not will face judgment. Blessed are those who keep His commandments, for they will have right to the tree of life.
The Final Invitation (Revelation 22:16–17)
Jesus declares who He is—the Root and Offspring of David, the Bright and Morning Star. Then comes the beautiful invitation:
“And the Spirit and the bride say, Come… whosoever will, let him take the water of life freely.
This invitation is still open today.
A Final Warning (Revelation 22:18–19)
A serious warning is given not to add to or take away from the Word of God. His truth is complete and must be handled with reverence.
The Final Promise (Revelation 22:20–21)
Jesus closes with these words: “Surely I come quickly.”
And the response of the church is simple and powerful:
“Even so, come, Lord Jesus.”
Final Thought
The Bible ends the same way it began—with life, with God, and with a promise. But it also ends with a call—to be ready.
Jesus is coming.
The question is… are we ready?
The (amazing) grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you all. Amen.
